I am going to be going with a group of Cat/dog rescuers that will be helping out with the animals. They have asked me if I would like to join since I do small animals and no one with there group has experience with them. Things we know we are going to need is all the basic items food, bedding, hay, water bottles, critical care, vit.C,heavy food dishes just about anything you can think of.
Since I am joining forces with them I can give you a receipt for any item for donation you make.
If anyone wants to send actual items please let me know and I will give you a shipping address.
I know I will be bringing some pigs home to foster till their owners are found or if they are unclaimed I will adopt them out. If you want to make a donation I have a Paypal account that takes all forms of payment just make sure to let me know what it is for and if you need a receipt. megensmom1@yahoo.com is the Paypal addy.

I want to personally say what a great thing you are doing! I heard some horrifying stories since her destructive landfall. I would love to help out! 8-)
We have a feed store here, next time Chad goes I will have him look and see what they carry. Maybe we could donate some vitamin C, or something. I will let you know! What a brave and so wonderful thing you are doing! |

| That would be great. I can only go for couple of days but I want to try and help them so that they will at least know what to look for and maybe how to sex pigs. I want try and educate them as much as I can in that short time. And supplies will be much needed. I would also like to try and get them some critical care just in case. Not sure how much handfeeding they can do but every little bit would help. |

| We have some Critical Care here. It is left from when Mr. Snuggles was sick. We have it in the freezer to keep it fresh. Would you like us to send that? It is no trouble! Chad will still look at the feed store. When are you leaving? |

| Right now plans are still in the works but it looks like one day next week. We have to wait till they try and get any bodies out for health and safety reasons. After the government gives the all clear we will go the next day. I have one thing of CC that isn't open that I can send but I would like to send 1 more packet. If yours is open send it this way if you want to because I may need it when they arrive here. We are working this weekend on more stack cages because I don't know exactly how many will be coming back with me if any. It in all reality could be very bad for the small animals there. There maybe many that end up dying because of the conditions they are in and how long they will be that way before someone finds them. |

| Ditto! I also have some vitamin c tabs I can share! I was thinking of asking our vet, and the feed store we go to. 8-) Every little bit helps! Let me know where to send the goodies! What about towels and stuff like that? That thought crossed my mind. |

If you will email me @ megensmom@pbtcomm.net I will give you my address. I don't really want to post it to a public forum.
If supplies get here before Wednesday of next week we will take them this trip if not I will send them with the next bunch that goes of if needed I will keep them here. I am sure towels for drying the animals or for them to hide in would be good. I don't think anyone is going to be picky if there is an item you can donate. If we can't use it for small animals then the cat/dog people may can.
Vit.C is going to be something we surely will need a bunch of since keeping veggies is going to be really hard, also tubes of Ferret-vit or the liquid fer a tone stuff can be used for the ferrets. I am going to be buying some plastic totes so that we can use them for cages. My hopes are to have the holes drilled in them and to have in a box filled water bottles so that all I have to do is just hook them up and to have them pre-filled with bedding and stacked together so that all we have to do is add food bowl and attach water bottle and it is ready. I have had about 20.00 in donations so far and I am going tomorrow to buy water bottles with that. Don't think I will be getting far but hey it's a start. |

| For those of you sending CC if its an open pack I am going to just combine it all together in a water proof plastic container and use it that way.If I get alot of it I wil divide it with another rescue or 2. Whatever I have extra when I leave from there I am going to share with the other rescues to have to carry on. |

We have a box of:
2 towels
1 container of vitamin c
1/4 container (original pkg) of critical care
a few syringes, 1 large and a couple baxa syringes
About 2 lbs of Kleenmam's Bluegrass hay too!
All going out to you tomorrow to make sure it reaches you in time! This being a holiday weekend, we had to allow for shipping delays! 8-(
If I had more time, I would wait for our vet and feed store to donate. However, I will pass on this wonderful idea, and let them know to come here and work with you.
You and your team are wonderful people, and truly deserve a HUGE pat on the back for doing this! 8-) |

| Well we don't know for sure if we are going to leave on Wednesday as planned due to the large number of bodies that are being found we haven't gotten offical clearence yet so we can't go until they give the word. I will post as soon as I know for sure a day. But if you think you can get the feed store or where ever to help out that would be great. If I don't get the items before I go they want me to show someone else the basics for the next group going and there will be animals coming back I know and those pets will need stuff also. It is going to be months and months before these animals can find their owners. I don't even know for sure exactly how long they will have to be fostered in order to give owners the time to claim them. |

Here's a thought! What is the name of your rescue, and or some of the others going with and or after you? I will make a flyer, and give one to the feedstore, and one to our vets office! There we go! This way, the word is out in public for all to see! 8-) What do you think?
I made a flyer promoting our website here, and they have it hanging at the front door at our vets office! It never hurts to try! 8-) |

| That would be awesome! I could ask to post these at the local pet shops around here. I think that's something easy that most people could probably do to get the word out. I'm thinking that given the time issue, perhaps PayPal would be a more preferable form of aid... |

OK everyone I am so happy about this I am almost in tears.
Kleenmama's Hayloft has made a huge donation 100lbs of pellets, and 3-35lb boxes of hay. She is covering almost all the shipping except for 60.00. If a few people that wanted to help but the shipping on stuff was going to be so high maybe you can help out by a small donation to help with the 60.00 shipping charge(which might I add is less than half of what it would really cost).
Thanks KMS. |

WOW!!! I got goosebumps when I read that post! 8-) I am so glad this is taking off for you!
I took the flyer into my job today, to get opinions on it. My co-worker asked if she could keep it and take it into her vets office and see if they'll post it! 8-) She also told me she has some towels, and I think she said blankets she can donate. I am so excited about this!!! I feel like I am helping out, and that makes me so happy!
Your care package is on its way to you! It went out today, and should get there by Tuesday. I hope! LOL |

| Thanks for all you are doing because you ARE helping just because you aren't going doesn't mean what you are doing is any less important. Tell her thank you for me for at least trying to help out. Every little bit helps. |

I've also emailed a hay supplier of timothy hay in NY and asked him if he can donate a big box of timothy (40 lbs or so), I'll pay the shipping to you, PP.
I'm waiting to hear back.
I'm also getting a box of things together to send you. I'll email the items to you once I have it completed.
When is the truck leaving? Did I miss that posted somewhere? |
